What do I need to bring?
We want walking and socialising to be accessible to everyone, so we’ll be planning walks that don’t require any specialist equipment or expensive clothing. But we do recommend that you bring the following:
A comfortable pair of shoes. Walking boots or shoes are great for some of our longer routes. A good pair of trainers should do the trick in drier conditions. The main thing is to be sure that you'll be comfortable walking for an extended period of time in your shoes.
A bottle of water. Especially in warm weather.
A snack. It’s always good to stay fuelled. We’ll provide light refreshments at the end of the walk.
A waterproof jacket. Check the weather in the days leading up to the walk.
Do I need to pay to participate?
No, there is no participation fee! We try our best to find routes that start with a free parking spot. Occasionally this isn't possible and there may be a small parking fee involved. On other occasions, there may be a linear route that means we need to return to our starting point by bus. We will endeavour to arrange car share lifts as an alternative to this.
There'll be plenty of notice given if there is going to be any small costs involved in any of our walks.
How will I find out where to meet?
Register your interest using the form and we'll send out details of our monthly walks including the starting point, distance and route via email. This information is usually sent out 1 week before the walk date.
